The East Grand Forks Blue Line Club was founded in 1972. The club was formed to help provide for and grow the game of hockey in our city. Through the years the BLC has been a major contributor both financially and as a volunteer work force in building the Civic Center, the VFW Arena, the Blue Line Arena and the Jim Bradshaw Outdoor Rink, adjacent to the Blue Line Arena. All of our skaters today are the benefactors of the hard work and dedication of our past Blue Line Club members.
The BLC continues to play a vital role in our hockey program by continuing to invest in our arenas, sending teams to out-of-town tournaments, funding tournament officials, providing goalie equipment, team jerseys and much more. The BLC was the leader in our recent partnership with PEP and continues to lead in the development opportunities for all of our players.
The Blue Line Club also played a huge part in recent events for our youth players and community. First, the BLC assisted in sending over 150 players to the 2022 Hockey Day Minnesota in Mankato. This was a great and memorable weekend for all involved! Secondly, the BLC, along with the Parks & Recreation Department, hosted the 2022 Bantam A State Tournament and the 2023 Bantam AA Region Tournament which both had great success in showing off our hockey community and community as a whole and the events had a positive financial impact on our community.
During the summer of 2023 the Blue Line Club lead the effort both financially and in volunteer work to build the new Jim Bradshaw Outdoor Rink adjacent to the Blue Line Arena for increased ice time for the entire community.
Membership by every hockey playing family should be an easy decision. The yearly membership dues for hockey playing families is just $50.00. Your investment in BLC not only provides a great benefit to your children but reaps many rewards for the youth of our community and also our community as a whole. There is also an Associate Membership offered for all of those families that have come through the program and wish to give back to the program and also for those extended family members that wish to have a positive impact on our youth. The Associate Membership fee is $30.00 and is greatly appreciated!
